Courage is the key to friendship. In the youtube video Wheels on the Bus Rap, which I star in three friends have a chose whether they should do something stupid where everyone would make fun of them or have fun and don't care what people think. In this video they have the courage to sing and dance like idiots but it was fun and we where good friends after that experience. Sure we got made fun of a lot and tons of people laughed at us but it took courage for us to do it. What one friend wanted to do the other two also had to do cause there friends.

In the short story Of Mice and Men George has the courage to look out for Lennie, stand up for him, take care of him and even kill him. It takes tremendous amounts of courage to do one of those things but to do all of the at once is truly amazing on George's behalf. It's even because of Georges courage to look over Lennie that they keep the American Dream alive. George's courage is what keeps there friendship strong.

Racism Blog

Rodney king riots were riots due to police brutality issues. Los Angeles police brutally attacked an African American man named Rodney King and in a revolt African Americans rioted around L.A. when this happened. I was shocked about how police who take an oath can beat an innocent man although Rodney King was high and intoxicated. I agree with the black community on rioting although you never want to cause destruction you have to do what you believe in. It relates to TKM because Rodney King was sort of like a mockingbird kinda innocent and got prosecuted. The connection to the book is the fact that the innocent African American is always getting accused.

Understanding Kohlberg

Tom Hanks plays the Sergeant in Saving Private Ryan, a film that takes place in France during World War II. The story line of the film is about a group of soldiers that have one goal, to save a private who's name is Ryan. In there journey they form a band of brothers and decide major decisions as a group. Well Tom Hanks character makes a major decision against the whole platoon. He decides to let a German soldier go that killed one of there squad members. Everyone else wanted to kill the German soldier right then and there but Tom Hanks just let him go. Later in the film the German soldier was put back into circulation and killed two more platoon members. Tom Hanks had to make a choice of life or death and what he thought was saving a life ended up killing two. I think this is level three of the Kohlberg stage because its based off of Tom Hanks judgment and personal perspective. Its stage five because its right or wrong based on the greatest number of people and his whole entire platoon thought it was wrong. Also the decision was made on thinking he was going to benefit the society by keeping a life but was changed.
